Method and coverage
This issue lists changes published 2026-09-05 to 2026-10-05. Every page was read on 2026-10-05. Only the vendors' own public changelog, release-notes and deprecations pages were used.
Pages read
- Stripe (68 entries): https://docs.stripe.com/changelog
- Shopify (43 entries): https://shopify.dev/changelog
- Twilio (16 entries): https://www.twilio.com/en-us/changelog and https://www.twilio.com/en-us/changelog.feed.xml
- OpenAI (15 entries): https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/changelog and https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/deprecations
The changelog index of each vendor was read, then the entry page of each change where the vendor has one.
How the entries were checked
These pages are built from one data file of 142 entries. A validation script exists for that file: it checks that every entry has all its fields, a date inside the range, a known type, a deadline that is empty or a valid date, and a source address that is https and on the vendor's own domain, and it rejects duplicates. For this build the script was not run and no JSON parser read the file. An AI agent tallied the entries by reading the file, then cross-checked with pattern searches: each of the 142 entry lines matches the expected fields, vendor, date range, type and source domain, and the number of rows on each vendor page equals the number of entries for that vendor in the data file (68, 43, 16 and 15). The source addresses were not tested for availability. None of this judges whether a summary is accurate; that is why each entry should be verified against the official changelog.
Coverage gaps
- Stripe: the 2026-09-30.preview release (25 entries on the changelog index) is not covered. None of its entry pages was read.
- Shopify: the aggregate release-notes page for API version 2026-10 was not broken down into entries. Changes that appear only there are missing.
- Twilio: no entry dated after 2026-10-01 is included. Anything published from 2026-10-02 to 2026-10-05 is missing.
- OpenAI: two changelog items (project API key expiration dates and the GPT-Rosalind release) appeared in two of three reads of the page. They are included.
- SDK release notes, status pages, blogs and community forums of the four vendors were not read.
Caveats
- The pages were collected by an AI agent with a web fetch tool. For Stripe the tool returned the raw text of each entry page. For Shopify, Twilio and OpenAI it returned a machine summary of each page, and the wording here was taken from that summary.
- Stripe entry pages carry no publish date, so every Stripe entry is dated 2026-09-30, the release date in its address and API version name.
- The breaking label follows the vendor's own breaking-change label on Stripe and the removal or action-required wording on Shopify and Twilio. The other type labels are the compiler's classification.
- The OpenAI changelog has no per-entry links, so 12 of the 15 OpenAI entries point to the changelog page, 2 point to the deprecations page and only 1 has an anchored link.
- Stripe's "Deprecates the payment request button" carries Stripe's breaking-change label, so it is counted as breaking and Stripe shows 0 deprecations.
What the paid brief adds
This page is the free list. The paid issue covers all 142 entries and adds:
- the action checklist: what to do for each entry, or a plain "none" when the change needs nothing from you;
- an "Act first" section: the 46 breaking changes and deprecations and nothing else, grouped by vendor, each with what to do;
- a source link for every entry;
- a CSV file with all entries, one row each, to filter or import.
